These Reference Apps for iPad & iPad Mini are SO HELPFUL when teaching small children I don't know what we'd ever do without it!
- "Dad, why is the sky blue?"
- "Dad, why is water heavy?"
- "Dad, how far is it to Philadelphia in Metres?"
I couldn't possibly have answered these questions without booting up the computer and doing a bit of research. Now I just use a Reference App (or even just ask Siri)
and have the answer in just a few seconds... way before their attention span moves onto the next exciting question of life!
By the way, the sky is blue because of Rayleigh scattering; short blue wavelength is scattered more than other wavelengths. Water is heavy because it's more dense than most other things we carry around all day, and we live 16 million metres away from Philadelphia!
Here are our favourite reference Apps that we find VERY useful when answering little-ones questions (also for finding out answers we want to know)
